Recently, the Degree and Graduate Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education announced the list of approved thematic case projects for professional degrees in 2024. Two proposals led by Yanbian University won national approval: Professor Cui Yuhua’s team secured funding for “Transmitting Culture across Time and Space: A Case Study on the Protection and Inheritance of Musical Heritage in Yanbian Region” while Associate Professor Fu Wei’s team earned approval for “From ‘Little Mushrooms’ to ‘Forest Gold’: The New Quality Path to Revitalizing Sanghuang Characteristic Industry in Helong, Jilin”. Additionally,the shortlist for the first “A New Era Through My Eyes” College Student Practical Ideological and Political Works Exhibition and Broadcast Activity had been announced. The work “Rural Revitalization: Advancing with Innovation” by our university’s “Yanma New Youth” student team has been selected as an outstanding archived work.
“Transmitting Culture across Time and Space: A Case Study on the Protection and Inheritance of Musical Heritage in Yanbian Region” closely examines Yanbian’s rich musical traditions, integrating theoretical research with teaching practice to provide professional-degree candidates with a high-quality learning case. “From ‘Little Mushrooms’ to ‘Forest Gold’: The New Quality Path to Revitalizing Sanghuang Characteristic Industry in Helong, Jilin” explores how new productive forces can empower Sanghuang (Phellinus) cultivation and industry revitalization in Helong, proposing innovative models and practical pathways that contribute to rural revitalization. Both studies focus on cutting-edge developments, combining academic depth with practical value, and represent a new breakthrough in the university’s construction of professional-degree case studies.
In parallel, “Rural Revitalization: Advancing with Innovation” integrates key teaching points from ideological-political courses with in-depth social research, employing diverse formats to produce a high-quality piece characterized by political insight, ideological rigour, contemporary relevance and authenticity. It was chosen from 411 submissions representing 76 universities and will be featured as a special exhibition on the “Introduction to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era” learning platform and the “Great Ideological and Political Course” digital teaching map.
