Recently, the 2024 National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Intelligent Competition in Surveying and Mapping Discipline, organized by the Education Working Committee of the Chinese Society for Surveying and Mapping, hosted by West Yunan University of Applied Sciences and co-sponsored by Southern Surveying and Mapping Group, has concluded successfully. The competition attracted nearly 8,000 students from over 360 universities nationwide, setting new records in both scale and influence. Yanbian University’s team performed exceptionally well in the contest, winning two first prizes and five second prizes.
National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Intelligent Competition in Surveying and Mapping Discipline was successfully included in the Ranking List of National College Student Discipline Competitions in 2023, standing as a premier event in China’s surveying and mapping field to showcase scientific and technological innovation achievements. It aims to cultivate students’ innovative thinking, practical skills, and competitive spirit, and to promote deep integration of industry, academia, research and application. The competition comprises three events: Surveying Skills Competition, Development and Design Competition, and Scientific Paper Competition. Amid fierce competition, our university’s participants distinguished themselves with solid professional knowledge, outstanding innovative capabilities, and relentless perseverance, emerging victorious among numerous exceptional participants.
These results vividly demonstrate the high quality of teaching and talent training in Yanbian University’s surveying and mapping discipline. The university will use this success as an opportunity to further strengthen discipline construction, optimize curriculum, and encourage more students to engage in academic competitions, thereby cultivating high-calibre graduates with innovation spirit and practical abilities to contribute to the development of surveying and mapping.
