Speaking on behalf of the university, Zhang Xuewu extended his warmest welcome and provided an overview of Yanbian University’s history, disciplinary development, research innovations and contributions to social services. He highlighted the institution’s status as a “Double First-Class” university and noted its strong performance in bio-medicine, thanks in large part to facilities such as the Key Laboratory of Natural Medicines of the Changbai Mountain, Ministry of Education. He expressed the hope that this visit would deepen cooperation with the HK Bio-Med Innotech Association, enable the sharing of resources, and foster closer integration of industry, academia and research for mutual benefit—ultimately contributing to the high-quality growth of China’s bio-medicine sector.
Professor Lu Yulin then shared Hong Kong’s experience in industrialization of biotechnology and integration of international scientific resources. He said he hoped both sides would use the occasion to pool their expertise, build bridges for academic exchange and industrial collaboration, and explore deeper partnerships in pharmaceutical innovation and cross-border technology transfer—thereby propelling the bio-medicine industry to new heights.
The delegation also heard presentations from Jin Xuejun, Executive Director of the Key Laboratory of Natural Medicines of the Changbai Mountain, Ministry of Education and Professor Piao Guangchun, Dean of the School of Pharmacy.
